Dr. KK Saxena is an Interventional Cardiologist based in New Delhi, where he works at the Indraprastha Apollo Hospital in Sarita Vihar. He has been associated with this hospital since 1996 and is currently designated as Senior Consultant Interventional Cardiologist.

Dr. Saxena studied at GR Medical College in Gwalior, obtaining the MBBS and MD (Medicine) degrees from Jiwaji University. Subsequently he chose Cardiology as his super-speciality, and obtained the DM (Cardiology) postdoctoral degree in 1987 from Mangalore University after studying and training at Kasturba Medical College in Manipal, Karnataka, for three years. Between his MD and DM residencies, Dr. Saxena served as Registrar of Medicine and Cardiology at Choithram Hospital in Indore for a year. He then moved abroad to Muscat in Oman and worked at The Royal Hospital there as Specialist in Cardiology from August 1987 up to January 1991.

Dr. Saxena returned to India and spent a year as Lecturer in Cardiology at the Christian Medical College, Vellore. His next stint was research-based, as a Fellow in Interventional Cardiology at the Royal Adelaide Hospital in Australia for one year. Subsequently, he worked at the Batra Hospital in New Delhi as Senior Consultant Cardiologist. Before he joined the Apollo Hospital, he was stationed at the National Heart Institute, New Delhi, as Senior Consultant Interventional Cardiologist for about 18 months.
